NEW DELHI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Airbus Friday launched Tactilon Agnet-500, an app to replace walkie-talkie for critical communications in public safety needs.
“This is a big leap by putting multimedia content such as voice, video, and location that can help agencies with better coordination,” BSNL chairman Pravin K Purwar said, and added that the telco was filling up a gap of critical communication in its portfolio.
Developed by Germany-based Airbus Defence and Space, the app runs on any smartphone using the mobile broadband connectivity from any operator.
The solution meets all critical communication needs by leveraging the benefits of mobile broadband, LTE and cloud technology, and the telco said that the subscription-based workforce collaboration service is meant for both business-critical and mission-critical markets.
“The app allows real-time coordination among large teams along with multimedia communications. In the absence of a GSM network, the communication can be done through satellite-based internet Wi-Fi connections majorly in remote areas,” the statement added.
