NEW DELHI: State-controlled Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Thursday partnered with local cable operators (LCOs) for extending the internet and voice services to subscribers in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Dubbed as Bharatfibre, India’s fourth-largest, as a part of the offering is providing optical fibre cable (OFC) right up to the customer premises, ensuring reliability and better quality of services to customers.
BSNL is also executing government-funded submarine cable project in Andaman Nicobar Islands, which, according to it, would further increase the internet bandwidth at par with mainland customers.
“We have plans to roll out the Bharatfibre services in other parts of A&N Islands by entering into such business partnerships with the local franchisee and cable TV operators,” Vivek Banzal, Director CFA, BSNL said.
