NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio Infocomm, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea have managed to restore a majority of their network in cyclone Fani-hit Indian state of Odisha.
Jio, in its statement, said that the telco was able to make 85% of its network revived in the state.
“Around 85% network sites of Reliance Jio across Odisha are fully operational, and Jio is working continuously to provide seamless connectivity across the affected regions as soon as possible,” a Reliance Jio spokesperson said.
Rivals such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea too have added that they have revived majority of their networks in the region with steps taken on a war-footing.
“We have restored more than 80% of mobile network in the state and network teams worked on a war-footing to restore critical sites,” Airtel spokesperson said.
The Sunil Mittal-driven telco has taken innovatve step and deployed small cells on wheels to restore connectivity in some key locations.
“Vodafone Idea has managed to revive network connectivity in large parts of the cyclone Fani affected areas of Odisha with over 1,500 sites have been brought up,” the telecom company in a statement said.
