NEW DELHI: The United States (US) President Donald Trump Friday declared that only those immigrants who come under healthcare cover within a 30-day period of their entry or can afford cover costs themselves will be allowed.

The executive order will come into force from November 3, 2019.
Trump said that the rules would be applied to people seeking entry in the US with an immigrant visa.

The people with more than 18 years of age with Medicaid program cover for the poor would not be permitted.
The new order ‘protecting and improving Medicare for our nation’s seniors’ is aimed at Medicare benefits extension.
The new norms, according to analysts, are expected to further impetus to private players in the healthcare sector.
“We will soon allow the safe and legal importation of prescription drugs from other countries including Canada,” Trump in his speech added.
