NEW DELHI: The fight between US President Donald Trump and his arch-rival Joe Biden of the Democratic Party escalated Wednesday as the race for 2020 presidency bid hots up, with the latter terming Trump comments as “beneath the dignity.”
“I was actually sticking up for Sleepy Joe Biden while on foreign soil. Kim Jong Un called him a “low IQ idiot,” and many other things, whereas I related the quote of Chairman Kim as a much softer “low IQ individual.” Who could possibly be upset with that?” Trump tweeted Wednesday.
His tweet comes at a time when he was on his official visit in Japan, and that sharply criticised Biden quoting Kim.
Meanwhile, Biden campaign deplored Trump’s comments, and said that his comments were “beneath the dignity of the office”.
The row escalated over the Memorial Day weekend with heated debates relating principally to the US foreign policies with Trump being considered as a leader without farsight.
In February, Democratic candidate said that America as “an embarrassment” and its trade policies “self-defeating.”
Earlier Biden, in an attack on Trump, said that people choose hope over fear or unity over division.
“Everybody knows who Donald Trump is, we have to let them know who we are. We choose hope over fear. Truth over lies. And unity over division,” Biden in a tweet last week said.
