Tata Motors launches Intra V40, expands alternate fuel portfolio in small commercial vehicle segment

NEW DELHI: Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has launched the all-new Intra V40, strengthening its position in the small commercial vehicle and pickup segment and accelerating its push toward alternate fuel mobility.

The new Intra V40 is powered by a 1.2-litre engine producing 58 bhp of power and 106 Nm of torque, and features a CNG + petrol bi-fuel system designed to improve fuel flexibility and reduce operating costs. The vehicle offers a best-in-class payload capacity of 1,525 kg and a 2,960 mm load body, targeting high-utilisation last-mile delivery and cargo operations.

Equipped with a 110-litre CNG tank, the model is designed to deliver extended range and uninterrupted operations across varied routes. Tata Motors said the vehicle also features a hydroformed chassis for improved strength and stability, along with a modern walk-through cabin, car-like driving dynamics, and front disc brakes for enhanced safety and driver comfort.

The launch expands Tata Motors’ bi-fuel portfolio, which now includes models such as Ace Pro Bi-fuel, Ace CNG 2.0, Intra V20 Gold, and the new Intra V40. The company is also growing its electric commercial vehicle range, including Ace Pro EV, Ace EV 1000, and Intra EV Pickup, as part of its broader transition toward cleaner mobility solutions.

Tata Motors said the Intra V40 is supported by its ownership ecosystem, including Sampoorna Seva 2.0 for lifecycle support and Fleet Edge telematics for real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and improved fleet efficiency.
