NEW DELHI: Tech Mahindra has been recognised among the World’s Most Sustainable Companies of 2026 by TIME magazine in partnership with data firm Statista. The company secured the No. 1 position among Indian companies and was ranked 20th globally, highlighting its focus on integrating sustainability into its operations, solutions and business strategy.

The 2026 ranking marks the third annual edition of the TIME-Statista assessment. The evaluation began with more than 5,000 large and influential companies worldwide, assessed using factors including revenue, market capitalisation and public prominence.

The assessment followed a four-stage methodology covering the exclusion of non-sustainable businesses, sustainability commitments and ratings, reporting and transparency, and environmental and social stewardship. More than 20 key performance indicators were considered before the final list of 750 companies was selected.

The recognition comes as Tech Mahindra continues to advance its environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda. The company is pursuing its target of achieving SBTi-validated net-zero emissions by 2035, alongside initiatives focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste reduction and water stewardship.

Sandeep Chandna, Chief Sustainability Officer, Tech Mahindra, said the recognition reflects the company's progress in building a future-ready and purpose-driven organisation. He added that sustainability is increasingly shaping how Tech Mahindra develops solutions, works with customers and approaches long-term growth.

Tech Mahindra has also strengthened sustainability practices across its global operations through ISO 14001-certified environmental management systems and third-party certified Human Rights Assessments. The company said it remains focused on reducing its environmental impact and embedding responsible business practices across its operations.

In addition, Tech Mahindra provides organisations with ESG services and digital solutions designed to support their sustainability objectives and responsible business transformation.
