Profit-making TCIL pays dividend to government

NEW DELHI: State-owned Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), India’s telecom engineering and consultancy firm has paid Rs 14.20-crore dividend to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on the back 25% revenue growth in 2022-23 over previous year.

TCIL chairman Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman presented a dividend cheque of Rs. 14.20 crore to DoT secretary Neeraj Mittal.

In 2022-23, the state-run firm achieved a revenue growth of 25% over previous year with total standalone revenue of Rs. 2001.7 crore, and profit after tax Rs. 35.50 crore.

Delhi-based TCIL aims to double its revenue to about Rs 4,000 crores by FY 2025.

“TCIL is diligently working on its target of doubling the revenue by 2025. Several structural changes are being carried out to systematically work on the top line. Efforts are being taken to increase the visibility of TCIL, particularly for the overseas markets,” Kumar told TCIL earlier.

As a profit-making company since its inception, the company ‘s total dividend value to stood at of Rs. 294.19 crore on the back of government’s initial investment in equity of Rs. 0.3 crore while Rs.16 crore was further infused during 2015-16.

The group and standalone networth of the company are Rs. 1712.00 crore and Rs. 618.56 crore respectively as on March, 2023, according to it.

The public sector firm work with various central and state organisations and departments that contribute to a major revenue portion for the TCIL.

TCIL is currently executing Centre’s prestigious programs such as rural ICT for Department of Posts, Network for Spectrum (NFS) for defence, navy network, Bharatnet, Telengana Fiber, and BBNL VSAT, as well as e-health, e-education and CCTV surveillance projects for state governments.

Overseas operations of the company include Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Mauritius and Nepal in addition to Pan Africa e-Vidya Bharti and Arogya Bharti Network initiative in more than 15 African countries.
