TCIL says keen for expansion, fully aligns with Make in India initiative

NEW DELHI: State-owned Telecommunications Consultants of India Limited (TCIL) said that it is fully aligned with the Centre's Make in India initiative, and is looking to expand its services worldwide, following sucessful implementation of some of the projects in key markets.

"TCIL has strategic alignment with the government's Make in India vision and its ambitious plans to expand its services globally. TCIL's impressive financial performance including a cumulative dividend of Rs. 4,055.69 crore paid to the government was also acknowledged,” TCIL Chairman Sanjeev Kumar said. 

Early this month, TCIL celeberated its foundation day and highlighted the Miniratna Public Sector Undertaking’s (PSU) remarkable journey since its inception in 1978. 

Kumar-headed TCIL has also implemented some of the strategic projects in over 70 countries. Its overseas operations are currently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Mauritius, and Nepal apart from the ongoing pan Africa e-Vidya Bharti and Arogya Bharti Network project operating in more than 15 African countries.

The public sector firm is also executing several government projects such as the Defence NFS project, Navy OFC projects, Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF)-funded APSFL and Telengana Fiber Projects, Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) VSAT, Eklavya School, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Super Edge, Teaching Learning Material for Bihar Education Council, among others. 

Surajit Mandol, Director (Finance), TCIL, noted that the company achieved operating revenue of Rs 2,557.94 crore in FY24, surpassing the Department of Public Enterprises’ (DPE) target. 

D. Porpathasekaran, Director (Technical), TCIL, underscored TCIL's diversification and its execution of projects in telecoms and information technology both domestically and internationally.

The company added that it has some of the ongoing projects in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Mauritius, Nepal, and several African countries.

Arun Kumar Chaubey, Director (Projects), TCIL, stressed on developing in-house expertise for solution designing in the key focus areas of data centres, cybersecurity, digital transformation and telecom. 

Delhi-based TCIL is a master system integrator, and is also hopeful to get some of the packages in country's ambitious BharatNet - III program.
