Samarth E-Mobility unveils fully indigenous EV technology platform built in India

NEW DELHI: Samarth E-Mobility has announced the development of a 100% indigenous full-stack electric vehicle (EV) technology platform, marking a significant step towards strengthening domestic EV innovation and manufacturing in India.

Developed entirely in the country under the Make in India vision, the platform integrates several critical EV components engineered and manufactured in-house. These include the battery pack, battery management system (BMS), motor, motor controller, power control module (PCM), DC-DC converter, AI-controlled onboard fast charger, instrument cluster and a proprietary operating system.

The company said the technology stack has been developed over the past three years at its research and development facility in Kalol, Gujarat, focusing on seamless hardware-software integration, improved system efficiency and enhanced safety for electric two-wheelers designed specifically for Indian riding conditions.

As part of its validation process, the EV platform has achieved key homologation milestones. The battery pack has been tested and homologated by National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX), while the in-house developed BMS has been successfully tested and validated by International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT).

According to Priyank Rakholiya, the company’s focus has been on building deep engineering capabilities rather than relying on assembly-driven solutions. He said the technology stack, including battery systems, software architecture, motor and power electronics, has been developed internally to support the company’s entry into the electric motorcycle segment.

The platform has undergone extensive validation, including over 51,000 km of real-world riding and more than 3,400 km of torture testing, ensuring reliability across diverse Indian terrains and climatic conditions. The company’s engineering team has also worked on developing rare-earth-free motor technology and a proprietary BMS to strengthen domestic intellectual property in the EV ecosystem.

Supporting its technology development is Samarth E-Mobility’s 1,50,000+ sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Chhatral, Gujarat, which has the capacity to produce more than 45,000 electric two-wheelers per month and over 5 lakh units annually.

The indigenous platform will power the company’s upcoming electric motorcycle, with Samarth E-Mobility planning to introduce its first brand in the premium aspirational segment later this year as it seeks to contribute to India’s rapidly expanding electric mobility market.
