American Express partners Magic Bus India to train youth in digital and employability skills
NEW DELHI: American Express has joined hands with Magic Bus India Foundation to equip nearly 3,000 young people across Bengaluru and Delhi NCR with critical employability and digital skills under a three-year initiative launched in FY2024–25. The programme focuses on industry-relevant training in emerging technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and IT fundamentals, along with life skills and job-readiness support to help youth succeed in a fast-evolving digital economy.
The partnership has already recorded strong training completion, job placement and retention rates in its first year. Participants are also receiving mentorship, interview preparation and post-placement support, enabling them to secure entry-level roles in customer-centric service sectors and build long-term career stability.
Sanjay Khanna, CEO and Country Manager, American Express India, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to creating pathways for economic opportunity by helping young people gain the confidence and capabilities needed for the modern workplace. Jayant Rastogi, Global CEO of Magic Bus India Foundation, added that the programme is transforming the ability of youth from underserved communities to access meaningful careers and contribute to their families and society.
A key success story from the initiative includes a computer science graduate who, after completing the training, secured a role as an Associate Data Engineer, highlighting the programme’s impact in bridging the gap between education and employment.
