iGenius launches Colosseum, a giant sovereign AI data center

NEW DELHI: iGenius, in collaboration with Vertiv and NVIDIA, has announced the upcoming deployment of Colosseum — one of the world’s largest sovereign AI data centers. Powered by NVIDIA’s DGX SuperPOD and Grace Blackwell Superchips, Colosseum is designed to meet the demanding needs of regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, and public administration.
Strategically located in Southern Italy, Colosseum represents a fusion of powerful AI computing, data sovereignty, and energy-efficient infrastructure. The facility will support enterprise-grade deployment of sovereign AI compute, balancing stringent data security with high-performance workloads.
Modular by design, sovereign by nature
Built on Vertiv’s 360AI reference architecture and co-designed using NVIDIA Omniverse Blueprint, Colosseum integrates real-time collaboration, predictive modeling, and digital twin simulations to accelerate deployment and reduce design-to-deploy cycles by up to 50%. Its modular, prefabricated design supports high-density liquid cooling (up to 132kW per rack) and seamless scaling for future AI requirements.
Key highlights of Colosseum:
-
Utilizes NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD with Grace Blackwell Superchips
-
AI-native infrastructure with Vertiv 360AI power and cooling platform
-
Real-time orchestration and digital twin synchronization via Vertiv™ Unify
-
Operations optimized using NVIDIA Mission Control
-
Designed for rapid, repeatable, and sovereign AI factory deployment
A digital blueprint for global AI factories
Colosseum is not just a data center — it’s a prototype for future AI infrastructure. The facility combines high-density compute, localized data control, and energy-efficient design to offer a scalable model for sovereign AI deployment around the globe. iGenius, NVIDIA, and Vertiv are aligned to extend this blueprint across future platforms, including the next-generation DGX GB300 systems.
“Colosseum is a milestone for sovereign AI and modular data center design,” said Uljan Sharka, CEO of iGenius. “We’re redefining how AI infrastructure is built — with intelligence, security, and speed.”Karsten Winther, President of Vertiv EMEA, added: “With iGenius and NVIDIA, we’re showing that AI infrastructure isn’t about chips — it’s about systems. The AI Factory is here.”
As global AI adoption accelerates, Colosseum marks a major step forward in sovereign AI — delivering secure, scalable, and software-defined infrastructure for tomorrow’s most mission-critical applications.
