IIT Jodhpur sets up Center for Research Translation and Innovation Lab with Prithvi AI

NEW DELHI: India has constantly proven its might in the IT world to the world and creates around 1.5 million+ engineers every year. In order to buttress the stronghold of the country, IIT Jodhpur has set up a center for research translation and innovation lab with Prithvi AI as Industry Collaborator; said Union Minister for Education Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ after inaugurating Innovation & Incubation Center and Sports Complex in the Permanent Campus of IIT Jodhpur.  

Expressing his contentment and emphasizing on the need for research, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal said, “Our stride towards progress demands the collaboration with research to fortify the global presence of our country.”

He further said that it is crucial for the institutes to structure their pedagogy in a way that it aligns with the industry and the launch of this lab will help bridge this gap between academics and practical exposure. With the composition of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, the students will be experiencing 50% exposure to learn these novel concepts in line with practicality, he added.

Director IIT Jodhpur remarked, “IIT Jodhpur is committed to build the next generation innovation ecosystem. Opening a research translation and innovation lab with Prithvi is part of our agenda to develop an interdisciplinary hub of AI innovation involving faculty, researchers and entrepreneurs working for generation of new age technologies and ventures in Healthcare, Energy, Agriculture, Infrastructure and Manufacturing.”  

Prithvi AI already has seeded 7 AI ventures out of IIT Kanpur and has delivered state of the art AI solutions for various State governments, PSUs and Private Sector Globally through its unique program that consists of Co-Innovation, Incubation and Venture Translation of Deep Technologies.  

Nandan Mishra, Founder of Prithvi AI, the R&D wing of Algo8, while conveying his insight about the co-created lab said, "We have increased industry's trust on business outcomes with AI by delivering innovation and expressing usable technology products which are mature and are being adopted globally. We look ahead to increase this throughput by driving usability, innovation and R&D in AI in an integrated manner through the Lab. We are committed towards our PM's vision of making India a global hub of AI by building a state-of-the-art AI research, development and skill ecosystem in India."  

This partnership of IIT Jodhpur and Prithvi AI is committed towards putting India on the Global Map of AI affiliated research, development and ventures.

Several dignitaries including Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; State Education Minister Sanjay Dhotre; Chairman, Board of Governors Dr R. Chidambaram were also present on the occasion.
