India and Central Asian nations strengthen counter-terrorism and security cooperation

NEW DELHI: India has stepped up its collaboration with Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, to bolster counter-terrorism efforts and regional security. During recent high-level meetings, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his counterparts discussed expanding cooperation not only in security but also in trade and connectivity.

The discussions underscored a shared commitment to combat terrorism, enhance mutual intelligence sharing, and promote economic growth across the region. This strategic partnership aims to foster greater stability and development in Central Asia, while reinforcing India's role as a key regional player.

The strengthened ties come amid rising concerns over security challenges and the need for coordinated responses to threats affecting Asia and beyond.
