NEW DELHI: MediaTek has unveiled its latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400+, a powerful upgrade in its Dimensity family that delivers next-generation Generative AI (Gen-AI) and agentic AI capabilities. With improved performance and energy efficiency, the Dimensity 9400+ is designed to support the latest Large Language Models (LLMs), enhancing both user experience and device functionality.

The chipset boasts an All Big Core architecture, featuring one Arm Cortex-X925 core clocked up to 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. This powerful configuration significantly boosts single-threaded and multithreaded performance, providing premium performance for Android flagship devices.

At the heart of the chipset is the MediaTek NPU 890, which supports a broad range of LLMs globally and enables advanced features such as Mixture-of-Experts (MoE), Multi-Head Latent Attention (MLA), Multi-Token Prediction (MTP), and FP8 inferencing. The Dimensity 9400+ offers a 20% boost in agentic AI performance thanks to Speculative Decoding+ (SpD+), and includes the Dimensity Agentic AI Engine (DAE) for seamless development of advanced AI applications.

The 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU brings PC-level visual effects to mobile gaming, thanks to support for opacity micromap (OMM), enhancing realism for game elements like hair and foliage. The new MFRC 2.0+ frame rate converter, developed in collaboration with game studios, doubles effective FPS and improves power efficiency by up to 40% during gameplay.

For imaging, the MediaTek Imagiq 1090 supports HDR video recording across the zoom range and includes Smooth Zoom technology for better focus on moving subjects and selective audio capture.

Other key features of the Dimensity 9400+ include:

• Extended Bluetooth range: Phone-to-phone Bluetooth now supports up to 10km, 6.6x farther than the Dimensity 9400.
• BeiDou satellite support: Delivers 33% faster TTFF even without mobile connectivity.
• Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency: With five simultaneous streams and MediaTek Xtra Range™ 3.0, offering up to 30m wider Wi-Fi coverage.
• 5G/4G Dual SIM Dual Active: Enabling dual data usage for more connectivity flexibility.
