Tech Mahindra AI driven telecom assurance solution wins global TM Forum award

NEW DELHI: Tech Mahindra has won the Best Moonshot Catalyst – Showcase & Storyline Excellence Award at TM Forum DTW Ignite 2026 for its AI-powered Business-Aware Assurance solution, highlighting the company's leadership in advancing autonomous network operations for the telecommunications industry.

The award recognizes Tech Mahindra's contribution to a TM Forum Catalyst initiative that leverages artificial intelligence, graph intelligence, digital twins and open industry standards to help communications service providers (CSPs) identify, prioritize and resolve service issues based on business and customer impact rather than network events alone.

The solution was evaluated by a panel of global telecommunications experts on parameters including innovation, business impact, proof of concept and scalability.

According to the company, the AI-driven framework supports the telecom industry's transition toward Level 4 autonomous network operations and demonstrated more than 90 per cent end-to-end automation across multiple network operational scenarios. The platform significantly reduces manual intervention while improving operational efficiency, service resilience and fault resolution.

As the lead systems integrator and solution orchestrator for the initiative, Tech Mahindra integrated agentic AI, graph intelligence, telecom expertise, digital twins, data engineering and TM Forum Open APIs to develop an intelligent assurance platform for modern 5G, cloud-native, edge and multi-domain networks.

The solution uses Google's GraphFlow-based Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) on a digital twin powered by Google Spanner Graph to correlate events across radio access, core and cloud networks. This enables intelligent fault detection, root cause analysis and business impact assessment while ensuring interoperability across multi-vendor environments through TM Forum Open APIs.

Manish Mangal, President and Head of Americas Communications Business at Tech Mahindra, said the recognition reflects the company's focus on applying AI and automation to help telecom operators manage increasingly complex network environments, improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experience.

Unlike conventional network assurance platforms that primarily monitor infrastructure alarms, the Business-Aware Assurance framework correlates network performance with services, customers, revenue streams and operational priorities. This enables operators to prioritize issue resolution based on business criticality, reducing Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR), improving service restoration and lowering operational costs.

Google Cloud collaborated with Tech Mahindra on the initiative by providing agentic AI capabilities, graph database technologies and expertise in operating large-scale network infrastructure.

Jen Hawes-Hewitt, Market Lead, Global Telecom Industry at Google Cloud, said the collaboration combines advanced AI with telecom expertise to help operators simplify cross-domain complexity, improve operational intelligence and accelerate their transition to autonomous networks.

The recognition further strengthens Tech Mahindra's position in delivering AI-driven digital transformation solutions for the global telecommunications sector as operators increasingly adopt intelligent, autonomous and business-aware network management technologies.
