Vertiv unveils high-capacity, low GWP free cooling chillers to optimize EMEA data centres
NEW DELHI: Vertiv, a leading provider of critical digital infrastructure, has introduced new high-capacity models of its Vertiv Liebert AFC inverter screw chiller range. Designed for data centres in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), these chillers offer up to 2.2 MW of cooling capacity in a single frame, reducing carbon emissions and simplifying installation.
“As the demand for AI and HPC deployments grows, customers are increasingly seeking solutions that provide higher cooling capacity within a compact footprint,” stated George Hannah, senior global director for chilled water systems at Vertiv. “Our latest Liebert AFC low-GWP chillers reach up to 2.2 MW, in a form factor that significantly reduces the time, cost, and complexity of deploying these systems. This solution supports our commitment to environmental responsibility and compliance with the latest regulatory standards. It aligns with our objectives to continue our industry-leading expertise in air and liquid cooling applications.”
These high-density, outdoor chillers are ideal for modern data centers and feature a low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant, R1234ze HFO, which complies with EU regulations. The inverter-driven compressor ensures precise temperature control and reduces energy consumption during peak periods.
The Liebert AFC chillers are designed for hybrid operation, making them suitable for data centres with AI and HPC liquid cooling applications. Vertiv also offers a comprehensive range of cooling solutions to complement the chillers, including perimeter air handlers, coolant distribution units, thermal wall systems, and smart control systems.
By combining these solutions, data centre operators can effectively address the cooling needs of colocation and cloud applications while minimizing environmental impact.
