Rajnath Singh issues stern warning on terror, highlights Operation Sindoor at SCO summit
NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a strong message against terrorism at the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit, asserting that there is “no place for double standards” in combating terror. Addressing member nations, he stressed the need for unified and decisive global action against terrorism and its sponsors.
Singh underlined that selective approaches to terror threats undermine collective security and called on countries to hold perpetrators accountable without bias. He reiterated India’s long-standing position that terrorism in all its forms must be condemned unequivocally.
Highlighting India’s proactive counter-terror measures, the Defence Minister spoke about Operation Sindoor, describing it as a demonstration of India’s firm resolve to neutralise threats and safeguard national interests. He noted that such operations reflect the country’s commitment to maintaining regional stability and protecting its citizens.
The minister also emphasised the importance of intelligence sharing, strengthening multilateral cooperation, and enhancing capacity-building among SCO member states to effectively tackle evolving security challenges.
India’s strong stance at the summit comes amid growing concerns over cross-border terrorism and regional instability. Singh’s remarks reinforced New Delhi’s call for zero tolerance towards terrorism and greater international coordination to address the menace.
