Ukraine intensifies drone attacks on Russia amid rising tensions
NEW DELHI: Ukraine has stepped up its long-range drone attacks against Russia, targeting military and strategic infrastructure in several areas, including locations near Moscow. The latest wave of attacks marks a further escalation in the ongoing conflict as Kyiv continues to use drones to strike targets far beyond the front line.
Russian authorities have reported drone activity in and around the Moscow region, while air-defence systems have been deployed to intercept incoming drones. The attacks have also affected transport and other infrastructure in some areas, highlighting the growing reach of Ukraine’s long-range drone campaign.
The escalation comes as fighting continues along the Russia-Ukraine front, with both sides carrying out strikes against military positions and critical infrastructure. Ukraine has increasingly relied on domestically produced long-range drones as part of its strategy to disrupt Russian military capabilities and logistical networks.
Russia, meanwhile, continues to launch missile and drone attacks against Ukrainian territory. The continuing exchange of long-range strikes has raised concerns over further escalation, even as international efforts to find a pathway toward ending the war remain ongoing.
The latest attacks underline the changing nature of the conflict, with unmanned aerial vehicles playing an increasingly important role in military operations. Both Russia and Ukraine have expanded their drone capabilities, making long-range attacks a significant feature of the war.
