COCO Rides expands Pune network to over 216 routes, crosses 22,000 users
NEW DELHI: COCO Rides, the app-based employee shuttle service operated by RouteMatic, has expanded its network across Pune within four months of its launch in May 2026, crossing 22,000 registered users and recording peak daily ridership of more than 6,000 passengers.
Launched in partnership with the Hinjawadi Industries Association (HIA), the platform has grown its operations to more than 216 routes, supported by a fleet of over 80 buses. The company said the service has also added boarding points across the city to improve connectivity for office commuters travelling to the Hinjawadi IT hub.
COCO Rides currently records more than 5,000 daily active users, while average shuttle occupancy stands at 62%. The expansion comes amid growing demand for reliable and affordable commuting options among employees dealing with crowded public transport, rising cab fares and traffic congestion.
The platform offers pre-booked seats, fixed routes, scheduled services and predictable fares, connecting residential neighbourhoods across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad with Hinjawadi. Employees of more than 80 HIA member companies can use the service, with one-way fares starting at Rs 100. Monthly passes offer savings of around 32% compared with regular daily fares, according to the company.
To cater to employees with flexible working hours, COCO Rides has also introduced an afternoon express service with fewer drop-off points, helping commuters reach their destinations faster outside peak hours.
Reliability remains a key focus for the platform, which reports on-time performance of over 95%, including during periods of heavy monsoon rainfall. Its safety and service features include round-the-clock trip monitoring, real-time GPS tracking, SOS and emergency assistance, and dedicated helpdesk support.
Commenting on the growth, Ankur Krishna, Head of COCO Rides, said the platform was launched to make daily commutes in dense employment hubs such as Hinjawadi more reliable, convenient and predictable.
He said the response from commuters and the expansion in ridership reinforced the company's belief that organised employee shuttles could play a significant role in Pune's daily mobility. The company plans to expand into other business parks and workplace clusters across the city.
COCO Rides is currently available to employees of HIA member companies. Commuters can register through the app, check routes and schedules, and reserve seats for their daily journeys.
