Iran President arrives in Pakistan for talks on regional stability and economic cooperation

NEW DELHI: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday for high-level talks focused on strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing economic cooperation, and discussing the evolving security situation in the Middle East following the recent ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

During the visit, President Pezeshkian is scheduled to hold discussions with Pakistan's top leadership on regional stability, border security, trade expansion, energy collaboration, and connectivity initiatives. The two sides are also expected to review progress on existing economic projects and explore avenues for increasing bilateral trade.

The visit comes at a crucial time as tensions in the Middle East remain elevated despite the ceasefire between Iran and Israel. Both countries are expected to exchange views on the regional security landscape and the broader implications of recent developments for South and West Asia.

Iran and Pakistan share a long border and maintain close diplomatic and economic relations. Officials from both countries have emphasized the importance of cooperation in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across the region.

The visit is also seen as an opportunity to deepen strategic engagement between Tehran and Islamabad amid shifting geopolitical dynamics and growing calls for regional dialogue and economic integration.A
