Ultraviolette Shockwave to get new 100V architecture, launch in Q1 2027

NEW DELHI: Ultraviolette Automotive has confirmed that its upcoming Shockwave electric motorcycle will be built on the company’s newly developed 100V electrical architecture and is scheduled to launch in India in the first quarter of 2027. The new architecture is expected to improve power delivery, thermal efficiency and charging performance.

The Shockwave, also known as the FUNDURO, has been developed as a lightweight electric motorcycle focused on riding dynamics and versatility. Ultraviolette says its design draws inspiration from the character of classic two-stroke motorcycles, while its electric powertrain is aimed at delivering a more engaging riding experience.

The company has already started preparations for production, including setting up a dedicated production line at its existing manufacturing facility. The motorcycle will be offered in both single-seat and dual-seat configurations, giving customers different options depending on their intended use.

According to Ultraviolette co-founder and CEO Narayan Subramaniam, the Shockwave and the company's Tesseract electric scooter have been developed in parallel over the past year. The company believes the adoption of the 100V architecture represents an important step in bringing its performance-focused electric vehicle technology to the motorcycle.

The 100V architecture was previously announced for the Tesseract, and its adoption on the Shockwave expands the technology across Ultraviolette's upcoming product portfolio. While the two vehicles are designed for different riding experiences, the company says both will benefit from the new electrical platform.

Ultraviolette has not yet disclosed the final specifications of the production-spec Shockwave. At its earlier unveiling, the motorcycle was presented with a claimed 14.5 bhp output, 4kWh battery, 165 km IDC range, 0-60 kmph acceleration in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 120 kmph. However, these figures may change for the final production version following the switch to the new 100V architecture.

The Shockwave was first showcased in March 2025 and was initially expected to reach customers earlier. With the latest update, Ultraviolette has now formally moved the launch timeline to Q1 2027, while production preparations are already underway. The company is expected to reveal final technical specifications, pricing and additional launch details closer to its market introduction.
