BSNL Employees Union threatens stir over issues related to pay scale and delayed promotions

NEW DELHI: All India Graduate Engineers & Officers Association (AIGEOA), a recognized representative association of telecom public sector enterprise BSNL, has written a letter to the management of the company for their issues related to pay, pension and pending promotions.

The Employees’ Association demands include implementation of E2-E3 scale for JTO-SDE equivalent, immediate support of 22820/- and E1+5 to compensate the pay loss to JTO/JAO equivalent, no lateral recruitment and scrapping of MT Recruitment Rule and ongoing process, introduction of fast-track promotion channel, enhancement of total SAB to 30% and formation of PRMB Trust with defined contribution and one time settlement of LDCE-2007 SDE Reversion issue.

The Association rue that the management’s sudden move to declare the list of selected candidates on 8th of July for next process of screening for MT Recruitment has infuriated the employees that on one side management is not executing pending promotions and other side declaring the list in night. There is a strong disappointment & anguish between the executives whose promotion avenues has been stopped and derailed by declaring the result of MT which is a lateral entry in the department after serving in the BSNL for more than 20-22 years.

The Association, in its letter to CMD of the organisation, says that even after 20 years since its inception, BSNL does not have its own management, which made no positive effect on BSNL despite the efforts and amount spent in the revival package. BSNL management seems to be totally oblivious to this fact and seems to be furthering the deputation of officers from the DoT and denying promotion to in-house talents by creating a mess of HR functions in BSNL since years together, the letter added.
