MediaTek showcases AI and connectivity innovations at Mobile World Congress 2026
NEW DELHI: MediaTek highlighted its latest advancements in AI and next-generation connectivity at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, presenting its “AI for Life: From Edge to Cloud” showcase that features breakthroughs in 6G communications, 5G-Advanced connectivity, edge AI devices, automotive technology and next-generation data centre solutions.
During a keynote session, MediaTek President Joe Chen outlined the company’s vision for intelligent, seamlessly connected ecosystems powered by advanced silicon and AI technologies. The showcase includes demonstrations of the world’s first 6G radio interoperability, AI-accelerated uplink transmit diversity and a concept of a “personal device cloud” where AI agents collaborate across devices through Wi-Fi and future 6G networks.
The company also introduced the world’s first 5G-Advanced CPE device with Wi-Fi 8, powered by the MediaTek T930 and Filogic 8000 chipsets, delivering improved spectrum efficiency and significantly lower network latency through AI-driven network optimisation.
In the automotive segment, MediaTek demonstrated the first 5G NR NTN satellite video call for vehicles and unveiled a new telematics chipset supporting 5G-Advanced standards. The firm also presented its Dimensity Auto smart cockpit platform, built on a 3-nanometre automotive-grade process and designed to support generative AI assistants, advanced graphics and connected vehicle experiences.
For mobile innovation, MediaTek showcased its Dimensity 9500 platform, enabling advanced on-device AI capabilities for smartphones, as well as AI-powered smart glasses designed to work seamlessly with mobile devices through multimodal AI interaction.
The company further revealed next-generation data centre technologies, including a UCIe-Advanced chiplet interconnect built on advanced semiconductor processes and a co-packaged optics solution designed to deliver higher bandwidth and improved energy efficiency for AI workloads.
MediaTek said the innovations aim to accelerate the evolution of AI-driven devices and networks, enabling faster connectivity, smarter applications and more efficient data processing across consumer, automotive and enterprise ecosystems.
